A box, drawer or shelf is made from boards connected together by members having pins, each board being composed of two outwardly smooth portions, 1, 2 of injection moulded material connected together by inwardly extending barbed struts 11, 12 on one portion 2 engaging lugs 16 at the ends of struts 14, 15 on the other portion 1. The longitudinal edges of the portion 1 are received in grooves 6, 7 at the ends of side walls 4, 5 on the other portion 2 and the ends of further struts 19 on the portion 1 abut shoulders 18 on further struts 17 on the portion 2. Ribs 21 extend transversely between the struts of the portion 2 and saw-toothed portions are provided on the portion 1. The member 2 may have a longitudinal groove (25 Fig 6) for receiving the base of a drawer and the other member 1 may have either a longitudinal groove (24, Fig. 6) to serve as a guide or a longitudinal groove (44, Fig. 6) with an inward projection (45) to serve as a strip handle. The connecting members, (Figs. 7-9) are formed to give linear or angle, or cross or T joints and each consists of an upright member with two or four U-sectioned pins projecting from one or more of the sides. The pins are inserted into the spaces between the struts of the boards and have saw toothed portions which engage the saw toothed portions of the board. |
