An image forming apparatus is provided to maintain stable charging performance throughout a long term by restraining the degradation of a driven property of a charging roller for a photosensitive drum. A photosensitive drum(12) is rotated. A charging roller(14) is contacted to the photosensitive drum(12) and rotated by the rotation of the photosensitive drum(12). The charging roller(14) charges the photosensitive drum(12). A cleaning roller(100) is contacted to the charging roller(14) and rotated by the rotation of the charging roller(14). The cleaning roller(100) cleans the charging roller(14). The first auxiliary roller is coaxially installed in the charging roller(14). The first auxiliary roller is contacted to the photosensitive drum(12) and is rotated by the rotation of the photosensitive drum(12). When F1 indicates friction force between the first auxiliary roller and the photosensitive drum(12), F2 indicates friction force between the photosensitive drum(12) and the charging roller(14), and F3 indicates friction force between the charging roller(14) and the cleaning roller(100), the relation of F1>F2>F3 is satisfied.
