PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To strike a balance between fixing properties and stacking properties of respective sheets of paper (thin paper and thick paper) as media without making a machine large-sized. SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus has a plurality of pressure rollers installed for one fixing roller and has separating members as many as the pressure rollers. A conveyance path is switched between thin paper and thick paper through contacting/leaving functions of the separating members to strike a balance between the fixing properties and the stacking properties after fixation as to each of sheets of paper.
