PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic transducer capable of estimating directivity information of the ultrasonic transducer from an external appearance of the ultrasonic transducer. SOLUTION: In this ultrasonic transducer 9 comprising a terminal plate 19 connected to a flange part 18a so as to seal a piezoelectric body 21, the terminal plate 19 is arranged so that a line connecting external electrode terminals 22, 23 agrees with the direction of the piezoelectric body 21, and thereby directivity of the ultrasonic transducer 9 can be estimated from the external appearance, and decline of transmission/reception sensitivity can be prevented, and decline of measurement accuracy can be also prevented.
