A measuring tool ( 200 ) is designed to measure the relationship between an inner hub land ( 106 ) and an outer land ( 104 ) for a valve body ( 120 ). A locating face ( 212 )engages the inner hub land ( 106 ) such that the measurements are taken with respect to the inner hub land ( 106 ). A probe ( 218 ) is designed to engage the outer land (104). By rotating the valve body ( 120 ), the entire circumference of the outer land (104) can be measured in relation to the inner hub land ( 106 ).
