PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly back up a virtual file system wherein shared file systems provided by a plurality of file sharing servers are integrated. SOLUTION: When one file sharing server 1200A of the plurality of file sharing servers 1200A, 1200B constituting the virtual file system receives backup requirement from a backup server 1100, the file sharing server 1200A receiving the backup requirement retrieves the file sharing server 1200B managing a file of a backup target from the plurality of file sharing servers 1200A, 1200B, and transfers the backup requirement to the retrieved file sharing server 1200B. The file sharing server 1200B receiving the transfer of the backup requirement transfers backup data to a media server 1400 through a connection server 1300. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
