摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the contrast of a displayed image and to suppress deterioration in an alignment layer. SOLUTION: After a TFT array substrate 10, where the alignment layer 16 is formed, is mounted on a stage 100, the entire surfaces of a first portion 16a and a second portion 16b of the alignment layer 16 are irradiated with a UV light. The alignment layer is irradiated with the UV light under optimum irradiation conditions, such that alignment of liquid crystal molecules of the first portion 16a can be controlled to a target pretilt angle. Then only the second portion 16b is irradiated with UV light from a general spot UV-light irradiating device 110. Consequently, the second portion 16b is reformed, more than the first portion 16a, and the second portion 16b and a sealing material 52 are enhanced in the adhesive strength.
