PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve improvement in fixing ability and excellent separability of recording paper from a fixing roll by enlarging a fixing nip. SOLUTION: A fixing device includes the fixing roll composed of thin wall pipe material, a first pressure means forming a first nip and starting the press-contact of the recording paper with the fixing roll, a second pressure means forming a second nip and separating the recording paper from the fixing roll after the paper passes through the second nip, and a fixing roll deforming means deforming the fixing roll in a radial direction so that the curvature of the fixing roll in the second nip may be larger than that in the first nip. Pressuring force by the fixing roll deforming means is made stronger than that by the first pressuring means and the second pressuring means, and maximum pressure in the second nip is made stronger than that in the first nip.
