The device has a functional body (8) e.g. tray for cups, bottles, beverage dispensers, or storage box for write implements, eyeglass cases, CDs, handkerchiefs, where the body is adjustable between two functional positions and is connected with guides (9, 10). The guides are pivotably supported at a center console (7) of a motor vehicle and are lockable in one of the functional positions. A linear guide is arranged in a base area and the center console of the motor vehicle. The body is adjustable along the linear guide.
