PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct a curl formed on a recording paper such as a rolled paper by a compact mechanism efficiently and prevent deterioration of quality of the recording paper after correcting the curl. SOLUTION: This recording paper curl correction mechanism provided with a thermal head 10 and being applicable to a thermal printer 1 for printing image on a rolled paper 41 is provided with a decurl roller 17 capable of bending the rolled paper 41 in the reverse direction to the direction of curl of the rolled paper 41. The decurl roller 17 is arranged at a position which is on the downstream side of the thermal head 10 and at which remaining heat generated upon image printing by the thermal head 10 remains on the rolled paper 41.
