PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform the optimum over-load protection of a back rest of an automobile seat and an inclination adjustment fitting in head-on collision. SOLUTION: An over-load protection device of the back rest and the adjustment fitting has a switching member (18) for a shoulder belt provided on a shoulder belt exit (14), fixed to a back rest frame and movably supported in the back rest frame (6') in resistant to pre-load; and a locking device (20) transmitted/coupled to the switching member (18) through a connection piece (22). The connection piece (22) introduces dynamic load or force applied from an occupant (47) to the switching member (18) through the shoulder belt (12) to a sitting portion frame (4') through the locking device (20) in the head-on collision.
