PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for detecting that a person lies prone having a simple constitution, facilitating the attachment of a detecting sensor and a determination, and providing a correct determination. SOLUTION: A thin-film container contains conductive liquid with the volume almost half of its volume sealed therein, has a plurality of high-frequency transmission sections transmitting or stopping an electric wave according to the inclination degree of conductive liquid, and is stuck to the forehead or the chest region surface of an infant or the disabled. This detecting device receives the electric wave transmitted by the plurality of high-frequency transmission section through a receiving section, determines whether the person to be monitored lies prone or not according to the receiving state, and allows the receiving section to output an alarm when the person lies prone for a preset time or more.
