<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a unit inverter parallel drive power converter in which blow-out of a fuse in the unit inverter is detected surely and operation can be continued by other sound unit inverters. <P>SOLUTION: In the power converter for driving a common AC motor 9 through parallel connection of a plurality of unit inverters each consisting of a rectifier circuit 1 for converting an AC voltage supplied from an AC power supply into a DC voltage, a DC capacitor 2 for smoothing the DC voltage, an inverter circuit 3 for inverting the smoothed DC voltage into an AC voltage, and a fuse 4 provided in order to protect the inverter circuit against short circuit fault, the gates of all unit inverters are blocked when the DC voltage of any unit inverter falls during operation below a predetermined level, that unit inverter is separated from the drive system by a separation means after a predetermined time, and then the unit inverters other than that unit inverter are restarted by unblocking the gates. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
