PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system in which convenience can be improved by reducing a burden of a cellular operator and expanding a range within which a complex terminal is available. SOLUTION: The complex terminal has a cellular mode, a wireless LAN mode, and a wireless LAN roaming mode for communicating with a cellular network within a wireless LAN. A mode control means 104 waits for a call from the cellular network and detects the wireless LAN during the cellular mode and when the wireless LAN is detected, the cellular mode is switched to the wireless LAN roaming mode. When a signal from the wireless LAN can not be received any more during the wireless LAN roaming mode, it is switched to the cellular mode. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
