<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diffuser enabling color correction, wherein a color change dependent on a viewing angle is suppressed while lowering of luminance, lowering of contrast, and blurring are suppressed in a liquid crystal display device, and in particular in a vertical alignment type liquid crystal television, and further to provide a polarizing element using the same, and the liquid crystal display device. <P>SOLUTION: The diffuser has fine regions (inner diffusers) having varying refractive indexes, which more intensely diffuse short wavelength rays in visible rays corresponding to particle sizes (Mie scattering), is disposed on the observer's side of a liquid crystal cell so as to be used as a diffuser, and is applied to the polarizing element and to the liquid crystal display device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
