PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent sparks by fixing an energized carbon brush on a brush holder so as not to move to the front end side even if a carbon brush is worn by a predetermined amount. SOLUTION: This motor is configured so that the brush holder 26 becomes narrower from the base-end side to the front-end side corresponding to the shape of the carbon brush 25 which becomes narrower from the base-end side to the front-end side. When a carbon brush 25 is worn by the predetermined amount, the upper and lower side surfaces 25b, 25b are respectively engaged with the inner edge portions of the upper and lower side surfaces 26a, 26a of the brush holder 26 due to inclined shapes of the upper and lower sides surfaces 25b, 25b, and the carbon brush 25 is fixed on the brush holder 26 in the position by spring tension, so that the carbon brush 25 does not move from the brush holder 26 toward the front-end side. Further, the carbon brush 25 does not repeatedly come into contact or non-contact with the outer circumferential surface of a commutator, thereby preventing sparks from occurring between the carbon brush 25 and the commutator.
