<p>1,223,189. Travelling-wave shedding loom. WERKZEUGMASCHINENFABRIK OERLIKEN BUHRLE K.G. 26 June, 1968 [27 June, 1967], No. 30586/68. Heading DIE. A travelling wave shedding loom having means to prevent a weftless gap occurring upon resumption of wearing after removing a defective weft in which the relative positions of the inserted wefts and beat-up line are altered before resumption, has means for progressively restoring the relative positions once weaving has restarted. The mechanism is generally similar to that described in specification 1,108,735 but the restoring means is controlled by rotation of cloth take-up roll. In Fig. 1 the line of the beaters 30 is brought parallel to the wefts by swinging the arm 39 controlling their lower pivot points 33. When weaving is resumed piston 44 is actuated to swing arm 39 forward, but its range is restricted by engagement of pawl 58 in the teeth of ratchet 59. The ratchet is driven from take-up roll 13 by gear train 60-2 and is progressively followed by the pawl and arm 50 until projection 53 strikes an adjustable stop 54. In figure 2 the cloth is adjusted relative to the beat-up line by swinging one end of roller 71 in arcuate guide 78. The progressive restoration is again controlled by pawl 58 following ratchet 59 driven by take-up roll 72. The forward edge (68b fig. 10 not shown) of the shuttle drivers is raised above the shuttle and acts as a beater.</p> |
