An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) is provided to include a lambda/2 phase delay plate arranged at any one between upper and lower polarizing panels and an LCD panel. An upper polarizing panel is arranged at the upper portion of the LCD panel. A lower polarizing panel(190) is arranged at the lower portion of the LCD panel. A lambda/2 phase delay plate(200) is arranged between the LCD panel and the upper polarizing panel or the LCD panel and the lower polarizing panel. The polarizing shafts of the upper and lower polarizing panels are the same. The polarizing shafts of the upper and lower polarizing panels also have the angle of 45 or 135 degrees. The lower polarizing panel includes a polarizing layer(161) for absorbing the light beam of the specific direction. Support layers(172,173) are arranged at both side surfaces of the polarizing layer. The lower polarizing panel is attached to the LCD panel by an adhesion layer(182) located between the LCD panel and the lambda/2 phase delay plate.
