<p>A carbon nano-tube prepared by attaching a functional group having specific properties to the nano-tube is provided to improve working function and electron emission efficiency and working voltage, thereby being useful in manufacturing an electron emitter. A carbon nano-tube has electron pair donating groups on the surface. The electron pair donating group is at least one functional group selected from amine group, an atomic group containing hydroxy group and halogen group. The amine group includes -NH2, -NHR or -NR2 (R is C1-6 alkyl group), the atomic group containing hydroxy group includes alcohols or phenols and the halogen group includes F, Cl, Br or I. The carbon nano-tube has a working function value of 3.5 eV to 4.0 eV. The carbon nano-tube is prepared by adsorbing a molecular containing electron donating groups in the gaseous state to the end of the carbon nano-tube in a vacuum chamber.</p> |
