An electronic desk-top computer system has at least two stations, each with a keyboard and a data-output device, and a separate store associated with each to receive input and result values of that station, a single computing and control device (e.g. at a central station) and means for connecting one station at a time with its associated store to the computing and control device. The connecting means may be controlled by a distributer or manual keys. Besides communicating with the central station and with each other via the central station, the stores may be able to communicate with each other direct. When one station is connected to the central station, information fed into other stations is not lost. Each store may be a plugin module and is a recirculating delay line (or a magnetic core store) and may be at its respective station or at the central station. In the latter case the stores may provide or extend a store associated with the central station. A plurality of delay lines may be connected in parallel to give a larger store. |
