A device and a method for integrally controlling device drivers of a computer are provided to peripheral devices connected to the computer by communicating data with the peripheral devices in a standard data format and process data. Each peripheral device(50-56) is connected to an I/O(Input/Output) port of the computer and processes the inputted data in response to a driving command and the inputted data. Each application module(10,12) is installed to the computer, and formats and outputs a processing message corresponding to a user command by using a predetermined data frame. An integrated device driver manager(14) searches the destination peripheral devices(16-22) by analyzing the data frame received from the application module, and interfaces the destination peripheral device and the application module by calling the device driver corresponding to the destination peripheral device. The data frame is XML(eXtensible Markup Language) data having a tag for calling the destination peripheral device.
