During the forming step the second forming tool can be moved towards and away from the first tool, which is kept stationary. The machine comprises a magazine and work stations which are mounted on a frame, which in turn includes a vertical shaft from which it is pivotally suspended. Each work station has stationary first and second tools. A support mounted on the shaft can be driven in order to rotate the axle in a stepwise manner, preferably through 90 deg. intervals. The second tool, which is provided on the support and connected to a displacement device, is used to form the packaging material and transport it from the magazine to the work stations and between these work stations too. |
