A digital broadcasting receiver for supporting multi-digital broadcasting standards and a method for acquiring channel information by using the same are provided to greatly reduce or delete time wasted for searching channel information when digital broadcasting according to the first broadcasting standard and digital broadcasting according to the second broadcasting standard are converted and received. A broadcasting signal receiving unit(100) receives respective digital broadcasting signals according to two or more digital broadcasting standards including the first broadcasting standard and the second broadcasting standard. A control unit(130) acquires channel information about digital broadcasting according to the second broadcasting standard while digital broadcasting according to the first broadcasting standard is received through the broadcasting signal receiving unit(100).
