<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a volume 3D display by using a movable active display panel as a display means in the volume 3D display. <P>SOLUTION: The volume 3D display system uses the movable display panel that sweeps a display cavity. The perfect volume swept by the active screen is used as the display cavity. The 3D image to be displayed is converted to image data sliced based on a right-angle 3D grid structure. The sliced data is converted to an image frame to be displayed on the active screen by performing mapping between the position exponent of the right-angle 3D grid and the position exponent of the movable screen. The 3D image is obtained by successively displaying the image frames on the movable display panel while layering the image frames on one another in the volume direction based on the position exponent. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
