<p>Prodn. of a polylactam article comprises (a) placing a mixt. contg. a lactam, a catalyst and an initiator in an appts. suitable for the prepn. of polylactam articles at a temp. below the m.p. of the lactam, and (b) heating the mixt. to a temp. above the m.p. and above the polymsn. temp. of the lactam, so that the lactam undergoes anionic polymsn. to form an article of the polylactam in the appts. The process enables polylactam articles to be more efficiently and simply produced, by eliminating the separate stage for polymer formation. Better control of polymsn. is obtained, and more uniform pdts. are prepd.</p> |
