The door and window frame is composed of vertical mullions (24) and horizontal transoms (25) as shaped profiles (1) from flat materials. The profile has at least two outer walls (3,4) forming a variety of hollow zones. A mounting leg (2) for a glass pane (12,14) is at least at one side wall (5). Passage openings are at an outer wall for electrical connections to an alarm or entry monitor (17,18). The outer walls are covered wholly or partially by a removable connecting profile (16).
