Provided is a method of generating changeable fingerprint templates invariant to a translation and rotation of an input fingerprint image and a verification system thereof, the method including extracting an invariant value which is invariant to a translation and rotation of fingerprint image from image data around a minutiae extracted from an input fingerprint image, inputting the extracted invariant value into a modification function and calculating the amount of the translational and rotational movement of the minutia, producing a newly modified fingerprint template by translating or rotating the minutiae to a minutiae direction by a calculated the amount of the movement, and authenticating a person by using the modified fingerprint template.
