Solvent-free continuous production of polyurethane compositions involves reacting polyisocyanates with >= 2 isocyanate groups and polyisocyanates containing uretdione groups with oligomeric or polymeric polyols and optionally other component(s) in the presence of 0.001-3 wt.% quaternary ammonium or phosphonium carboxylate, hydroxide and/or fluoride compound(s) and/or metal hydroxyl and/or organyloxy compound(s) as catalyst(s) and optionally other compound(s) by intensive mixing in an extruder, intensive kneader or static mixer and short-term reaction, with heating.
