<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an input device, in which input of character information or function selection can be efficiently performed even in an operation surface with a limited space of a portable apparatus, a cellular phone, a remote control or the like. <P>SOLUTION: This input device 10 comprises a touch pad 11 divided to a plurality of areas in which information that is a selection candidate is assigned to each area; a start point processing means 104 determining a position touched by an input means 1 on the touch pad 11 as a start point; a display control means 103 varying and displaying, according to the moving direction and moving quantity of the input means 1 from the start point, a selection candidate assigned to the area including the start point; and an end point processing means 106 determining a position where the input means 1 is separated from the touch pad 11 as an end point, and confirming input of a selection candidate corresponding to the end point. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
