A rotary compressor, a control method thereof and an air conditioner using the same are provided to improve partial load operation for restraining temperature rising of a cylinder and improving partial load efficiency of the compressor. A rotary compressor includes a first vane(43) receiving in a first vane slot(44) to come in and out, and a vane driving part(60) contacting or releasing the first vane with or from an outer surface of a first roller(42) to carry out operation of a first compression chamber(31) with load and without load. A controller(80) controls the driving of the vane driving part for operating the first compression chamber with load intermittently in partial load operation mode.
