A multifunctional hinge system has a slider (20) with a hinge pin grip (21) at one end and with an adjustable setting at the other end. The latter comprises a hinge pin (30) and an eccentric pin (41) to adjust the hinge and to compensate for manufacturing tolerances. The hinge is easily opened e.g. to enable a door or flap to be swung open about a selected edge simply by opening the hinges on the opposite edge.
