A server for supplying a background screen service to a mobile communication terminal by using a mobile communication network and a method therefor are provided to download background screens to be used in a photographing process using a camera mounted on the terminal, so that a user of the terminal can select a desired background screen to use the selected screen when taking a picture. A memory unit(220) stores data required for the operation of a background screen service server(130). A display(230) outputs related information with which a user is able to check whether an error is generated and an operating process of the server(130). A key input unit(240) enables the user to input data or a command. A DB server(260) stores background screen data to be used as a background screen during a camera photographing process by being downloaded to a terminal. A controller(210) transmits the background screen data to the terminal.
