PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assure stable operation as against a resolution change of a video signal. SOLUTION: The flat panel display device is equipped with a display panel having a plurality of pixels arranged in an approximately matrix form, a controller circuit 111 which sequentially outputs a plurality of pixel data for pixels of respective rows by processing the video signals supplied from the outside, and a column driver 113 as a part of the driver circuit for driving the plurality of the pixels in row units in correspondence to a plurality of the pixel data inputted from the controller circuit 111. More particularly, the controller circuit 111 includes an output buffer section 12 which sequentially outputs the plurality of the pixel data to the column driver 113, and a frequency discrimination section 13 and output buffer selection section 14 as setting sections for setting the driving capability of the output buffer section 12 in correspondence to the resolution of the video signal.
