<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an artificial lung which prevents air bubbles in blood from flowing out of a blood outflow part. <P>SOLUTION: The artificial lung 10 is equipped with a housing 2A, a hollow fiber membrane layer 3A which is housed in the housing 2A and is formed by accumulating a plurality of hollow fiber membranes with a gas exchanging function, a gas inflow part and a gas outflow part respectively provided on the upstream side and the downstream side of a gas channel while the lumen of each hollow fiber membrane is used as the gas channel, and a blood inflow part and the blood outflow part respectively provided on the upstream side and the downstream side of a blood channel while the outside of each hollow fiber membrane is used as the blood channel. The artificial lung 10 has an air bubble eliminating means 4A which is located on the side of the blood outflow part of the hollow fiber membrane layer 3A and has the functions of capturing the air bubbles in the blood and of discharging the captured air bubbles outside the blood channel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
