<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable it that, if a power-off is an abnormal finishing, an image-forming apparatus is immediately recovered into the operable state by halting the checking of the data in a storage region which has been read before the power-off during forming an image and resuming it after the finishing of forming the image. <P>SOLUTION: The image-forming apparatus is equipped with the first storage region wherein the first program has been stored, the second storage region wherein the second program has been stored, a storage region change section for changing the first storage region and the second storage region, a starting section for starting an image-forming section by reading the second program at the next starting time if the power-off is an abnormal finishing and a data-check control section for checking the data in the first storage region which has been read before the power-off.
