PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further decrease a waiting time when an arbitrary part is read in DVD reproduction. SOLUTION: An HDD 116 records data corresponding to the prescribed period from a resume stop position or a book-marked position of contents of a DVD 119 as a stub data. A storage manager 114 controls reading data so that stub data from the position is read from the HDD 116 when reproduction is performed from the position and data following the stab data is read from the DVD 119.
