<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To print out external characters not included in a Chinese character database and alphabetic names in an easily readable manner. <P>SOLUTION: It is checked whether or not the family name portion and the given name portion of name data read from a patient examination card include external characters. When it is found that an external character is included, the external character is replaced to a sign character '_' and it is printed out with printable Chinese characters. For each given name portion or each family name portion of which the external character is replaced, its reading Japanese syllabary is also printed out adjoining the corresponding portion. The printable Chinese character is easily read since it is printed out to maximum comparing to replacing the entire name to 'Katakana' characters when the external character is included. When the name data includes an alphabet, reading of the name becomes easy also by adding and printing the reading Japanese syllabary to the alphabet. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
