PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that a twisted nematic liquid crystal such as TN mode has a slow response speed and causes motion blur when high speed image is displayed. SOLUTION: By making the relation between twist pitch (p) of twisted liquid crystal and gap (d) p/d<8 and, further, performing the polymer stabilization, the high-speed stabilization of increasing a torque for returning to the orientation upon no application of voltage is materialized and the response speed of liquid crystal upon falling is made higher. By applying such a technology to a liquid crystal display device which performs reset drive, over drive or common modulation drive, a quick response speed can be obtained even when using TN liquid crystal.
