The method involves tracking a negative sequence component and a positive sequence component of a signal of an electricity network (384). A portion of an amount of the negative sequence component is adjusted for feeding in the electricity network. The portion is fed in the electricity network for changing the disturbance. An independent claim is also included for a device for changing an effect of a disturbance in an electricity network on a generator, which is connected with the network.
