The safety barrier, for protection against avalanches and falling rocks or trees comprises a net (1) mounted on pairs of cables (2 -5) at the front and back which are fitted with cable brakes (9) to improve energy absorption. Additional cables (15, 17, 19) fitted with cable brakes (16, 18) are attached to the rear of the net.
