摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a CVT element and a manufacturing method for the CVT element capable of abutting on the other CVT element at mutually stable attitudes. SOLUTION: The CVT (continuously variable transmission) element comprises a saddle 11 in which pulley abutting surfaces 11a, 11a to abut on an input side pulley 2 and an output side pulley 3 of a CVT 1 are formed at right and left sides, a neck 12 extended in the longitudinal direction of the saddle 11, a head 13 extended in the longitudinal direction of the neck 12, and engaging grooves 14, 14 which are formed in a position surrounded by the saddle 11, the neck 12 and the head 13. In this case, a CVT belt 4 is formed by engaging the engaging grooves 14, 14 into endless forming rings 5, 5 in a laminate of elements with the front side or the back side abutted on them from the right and left substantially central portion of the head 13 at the back side of the CVT element 10 through the neck 12 into the right and left substantially central portion of the saddle 11, a concave portion 15 whose width in the head 13 is smaller than the width of the saddle 11 is formed.
