The roller press, to crush and compact raw cement or clinker or ore, for a material bed, has separate rollers (11-14) in neighboring pairs with gaps between them in bearing housings. The bearing housings are mounted on upper and lower sliding paths by brackets (`10,10a). Hydraulic cylinders press one roller against the other and the material passing through the gap between them. Two material feed chutes (27,28) are over the roller gaps, linked to a common feed (30). Material take-off chutes (31,32) are under the roller gaps leading to a common take-off and/or through openings in a sieve assembly.
