A ball bearing cage comprises a ring with holes in which balls are retained by radially inwardly extending fingers 24A, 24B, 24C positioned between the holes, and axially extending flanges 22A on the radially outer side of the ring. Two fingers 24A, 24B are formed between each hole each having a part-spherical surface facing the ball. Flanges 22A are annular. In manufacture a roughly formed ring is machined to form the holes and the part-spherical surfaces, and to shape the flanges which are then bent towards the balls. In Fig. 10 (not shown) separate flanges are secured to the cage. |
