The device has housing (1) and a button unit (2), where the button unit is adjustable relative to the housing. A drive device is provided for motoric adjustment of the button unit. The button unit is rotated around a vertical axis (4) relative to the housing for haptic display of orientation information such as direction information using the drive device. The button unit is rotated around a transverse axis for haptic display of collision and/or surface information.
