<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device for use in an organic electroluminescent display driven by a thin-film transistor, wherein the thin film transistor is prevented from wearing over time, and a method for manufacturing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The method includes a first step of forming a transistor on a substrate, a second step of forming at least one interlayer dielectric film on the transistor, a third step of forming a contact hole in the at least one interlayer dielectric film, a fourth step of forming a pixel electrode on the at least one interlayer dielectric film, and a first step of forming an organic electroluminescent layer on a pixel area corresponding to the pixel electrode.
