APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR RELIQUEFYING BOIL-OFF GAS

A boil-off gas reliquefying device and a method are provided to prevent the atmospheric air from flowing in even if a gap is formed between a precooling heat exchanger and a boil-off gas exhaust line extended from the precooling heat exchanger to a compressor. A boil-off gas reliquefying device is composed of a compressor(31) installed in the middle of a boil-off gas exhaust line(L1) connected from an LNG(Liquefied Natural Gas) storage tank to a liquefying heat exchanger to compress the boil-off gas generated in the LNG storage tank and to send the compressed boil-off gas to the liquefying heat exchanger; a precooling heat exchanger(40) mounted on the boil-off gas exhaust line formed at the front end of the compressor; and a shielding compartment(100) for shielding the boil-off gas exhaust line extended from the precooling heat exchanger to the compressor, and the precooling heat exchanger from the external air.
