The invention describes a voltage switching device (1) consisting of at leas t one power rectifier (8, 9), a storage element (11, 14), a charger (19) and several mains leads (16 to 18 ), the power rectifier (8, 9) being connected via lines (10, 13) to the charger (19) which is in turn connected via the mains leads (16 to 18) to a power source (7). A mains evaluation unit (26) is coupled wi th the charger (19), another power rectifier (8, 9) and an other storage element (11, 14) being provided in the voltage switching device (1). An output of the power rectifier (8, 9) is connected to the firs t storage element (11, 14) and its other output is connected via lines (10, 11) to the other output of the first power rectifier (8, 9), the other storage element (11, 14) being connected in between. The other power rectifier (8, 9) is switchably connected by means of the mains leads (16 to 18) between the powe r source (7) and the charger (19) and each of the two storage elements (11, 14) is disposed in on e of two independent cur-rent circuits (29, 30) in order to supply at least one consumer (2, 3).< /SDOAB>
