KIMCHI REFRIGERATOR AND CONTROL METHOD FOR THE SAME

A kimchi refrigerator and a controlling method thereof are provided to maintain the flavor of kimchi and store kimchi for a long time by pushing a predetermined input button when the flavor of kimchi is turned into a user's favorite to start a cold shock operation. A kimchi refrigerator(100) includes an input unit(410), a cooling apparatus, an illuminating apparatus(230), and a control unit. The input unit selects a user's favorite flavor and inputs the selected flavor. The cooling apparatus cools a storage compartment in which Kimchi is stored. The illuminating apparatus illuminates inside the storage compartment. The controlling unit controls the cooling apparatus to perform a fermentation mode and a storage mode, and controls the illuminating apparatus to illuminate inside the storage compartment while performing the fermentation mode and the storage mode.
