A system and a method for providing an OTP(One-Time Password) service using a mobile phone are provided to allow a user to conveniently generate an OTP and use it for authentication without having to carry a mobile terminal along. An OTP server(400) generates and transmits a query value for authentication, receives a response password, generates an OTP, and performs authentication according to whether the generated OTP is identical to the response password. An SMS server(500) converts the query value transmitted from the OTP server into a text message, and transmits it. An OTP mobile phone(100) detects the query value from the text message, and generates a displays a response password. When the response password is inputted, a personal communication device(200) transmits it to the OTP server. A contents providing server(300) provides corresponding contents to the personal communication device according to the authentication result of the OTP server. |
