PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data communication apparatus whereby transmission of electronic mail can quickly be executed with simple procedures. SOLUTION: The data communication apparatus includes an electronic mail transmission key that allows a user to transmit an electronic mail document whose document number is expressed as, e.g. "01", when an electronic mail address is registered to a record associated with an abbreviation code of a table storage section (telephone directory table TBL) in the case that ten-keys 111 of an operation section 11 enter the abbreviation code such as "00" for particularizing the electronic mail address.
